About PDF
A PDF holds pages exactly as they were laid out: text in its own fonts, pictures, drawings and colors, placed to the point, so a document shows and prints the same on any device. Adobe made it in 1993 and opened it up in 2008, when it became the ISO 32000 standard. Contracts, invoices, bank statements, papers, manuals and scans are all PDFs.
A PDF can hold more than its pages: links, forms to fill in, comments, attachments, and scripts that run when it opens. Those extras are how a PDF can tell someone it was opened, or carry an attack, which is why PDFs from strangers are a classic way in for malware.
Filepeek draws every page with pdf.js, Mozilla's PDF reader, inside a sealed frame that can't reach the internet, your other files or the page around it. Scripts never run, forms show what's filled in but can't send anything, and a link only opens after you see where it goes. Zoom in, search the text, jump between pages with the thumbnails, and save pages as images.

Questions
How do I open a PDF file?
Drop it on this page or choose Peek a PDF. It opens at once, fitted to your window, its pages one after another with thumbnails beside them.
Is it safe to open a PDF here?
Filepeek draws the PDF in a sealed frame that can't reach the internet, your other files or this page. Its scripts never run, its forms can't send anything, and a web link only opens after you see its address and choose Open link.
How do I search a PDF?
Choose Search, or press Ctrl F, or ⌘ F on a Mac, and type. Every match is counted and marked on the pages, and Enter goes to the next one. Scanned PDFs are pictures of pages, so they have no text to search.
Can I save the pages as images?
Yes. Choose Export, then Save as PNG or Save as JPEG, tick the pages you want and pick a size: Screen, Sharp or Print, up to 300 DPI. Each page saves as its own image, or all of them in one ZIP on iPhone and iPad.
Can it open a PDF with a password?
Yes. Type the password when Filepeek asks, and the PDF opens. The password stays on your device, and it's gone once you close the file.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The PDF opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
