What you'll see

Your G-code opens in 3D as the printer will lay it down, each feature in its color and listed beside it, with the slicer's time and filament.

About BGCODE

Prusa Research made binary G-code in 2023, with PrusaSlicer 2.7, for its MK4, MINI and XL printers. It holds the same moves as G-code in blocks a printer reads quickly, and its print time, filament and pictures in blocks of their own, so the printer's screen shows them at once.

Each block is packed: the moves with MeatPack, which fits two characters in a byte, and Heatshrink, the metadata with Deflate. A BGCODE takes a fraction of the room its G-code would.

Filepeek unpacks it in your browser and draws each extrusion as a bead as wide and as tall as PrusaSlicer made it, each feature in its color. Drag the slider to see the print as far as any layer, press Play to watch it build up, or show one layer alone, with the print time, the filament and the slicer's picture in Inspect.

Questions

How do I open a BGCODE file?

Drop it on this page or press Peek a BGCODE. It's unpacked and opens in 3D, every feature in its color, with nothing to install.

Can I see it layer by layer?

Yes. Drag the slider under the print to show it as far as any layer, press Play to watch it build up, or show one layer alone.

Does it show the print time and the filament?

Yes. Inspect shows the time and the filament PrusaSlicer worked out, and the picture it saved for the printer's screen.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The file opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
