About CBT

A CBT is a TAR archive of pictures, one per page, read in the order of their names. TAR lays files one after another without compressing them, which suits pictures that are compressed already.

It's the rarest of the comic archives, and fewer readers open it than CBZ or CBR, while no phone or browser opens TAR by itself.

Filepeek reads the TAR itself, opens the comic at its first page and shows it a page or two at a time, right to left for manga. Save as CBZ turns it into the comic format every reader opens.

Questions

How do I open a CBT file?

Drop it on this page or choose Peek a CBT. It opens at its first page, with nothing to install.

Can I turn it into a CBZ?

Yes. Choose Export, then Save as CBZ, and its pages go into a ZIP that every comic reader and e-reader opens.

Can I read manga right to left?

Yes. Choose Right to left, and the pages and spreads read the way manga does. A comic whose ComicInfo.xml says to read it right to left opens that way by itself.

Can I save it as a PDF?

Yes. Choose Export, then Save as PDF, and every page goes on paper its own size in the print window.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The comic opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
