About CHD
MAME made CHD, Compressed Hunks of Data, to keep the hard disks, CDs and laser discs of arcade machines small. Emulators of the PlayStation, Saturn, Dreamcast and PS2 read it too, so disc games are often kept as CHDs rather than as a CUE/BIN or an ISO.
A CHD cuts the disc into hunks and packs each one on its own, with LZMA, Deflate or Zstandard for data and FLAC for music, so any part unpacks without the rest. Its metadata lists the tracks, and its SHA-1 says what it holds. A CHD made from another keeps only what differs and opens on that parent.
Filepeek unpacks the hunks itself, as they're read, with libchdr. A CD's or GD-ROM's data track opens as a folder and its audio tracks play as songs, a DVD's files are listed as they are, and a PlayStation, Saturn or Dreamcast game is named by its serial or its title. Save as CUE/BIN gives back the CUE sheet and BIN that chdman makes.

Questions
How do I open a CHD file?
Drop it on this page or choose Peek a CHD. A CD's data track opens as a folder and its audio tracks as songs, with nothing to install.
Can I turn it into a CUE/BIN?
Yes. Choose Export, then Save as CUE/BIN, and you get the CUE sheet and the BIN that chdman's extractcd makes, music tracks included.
Which games does it name?
PlayStation and PS2 games by the serial their SYSTEM.CNF boots, the one printed on the case, and Saturn and Dreamcast games by the title and product number in their first sector.
What if it was made from another CHD?
A CHD made from a parent keeps only what differs. Drop both together, or the folder they're in, and it opens on its parent.
Is my image uploaded?
No. It opens inside your browser and never leaves your device, however big it is.
