About DSF
Sony made the DSF format in 2005 to store DSD, the sound of the Super Audio CD. Hi-res music stores sell DSD albums as DSF files, and many network players and DACs take them.
DSD records sound as a single bit 2.8 million times a second, 64 times the rate of a CD, or faster as DSD128 and DSD256. Files are big, about 5.6 Mbit/s for stereo, and ID3 tags carry the title, artist and cover.
No browser plays DSD by itself. Filepeek converts it to PCM with FFmpeg inside your browser, so it plays on any computer or phone, and Export saves a WAV or MP3 that any app takes.

Questions
How do I play DSF files without a DSD player?
Drop one on this page or press Peek a DSF. Filepeek converts the DSD to PCM inside your browser, so it plays on any computer or phone.
What's the difference between DSF and DFF?
Both hold DSD. DSF, from Sony, carries ID3 tags and cover art, while DFF, from Philips, is the studio format and can hold DST compressed sound. Filepeek plays both.
Can I convert DSD to WAV?
Yes. Choose Export, then Save as WAV, which any editing app opens, or Save as MP3 for a small copy. Drag the handles on the waveform strip to save only a part.
Is my music uploaded?
No. The DSF is decoded inside your browser and never leaves your device.
