About OASIS
SEMI made OASIS in 2004 as GDSII's successor, for layouts that had outgrown it. Numbers take only the bytes they need, a shape repeated across a die is written once with where it repeats, and parts can be compressed, so the same layout is many times smaller than its GDS.
Like a GDS, an OASIS file is a library of cells with polygons, paths, boxes, trapezoids, circles and text on numbered layers, and placements of other cells. Names can sit in tables apart from what uses them, and layers can be named in the file itself.
Filepeek reads the file in your browser, compressed parts included, and draws it on the same stage as a GDS: the top cell sharp at any zoom with every cell beside it, layers named from the layer maps it knows, as the file names them or from a KLayout .lyp dropped with it, Measure in microns, Find and the stack in 3D. Export saves the view as PNG or SVG and a cell as a GDS for tools that only read GDS.

Questions
How do I open an OASIS file without KLayout?
Drop it on this page or choose Peek an OASIS. It opens on its top cell, with every cell listed beside it and nothing to install.
Can I turn an OASIS file into a GDS?
Yes. Open the cell you want, often the top cell, and choose Export, then Save this cell, for a GDS of that cell and every cell it places.
Which layer is which?
An OASIS file can name its layers, and Filepeek shows those names. It colors them from SkyWater SKY130's, GlobalFoundries GF180MCU's and IHP SG13G2's layer maps when the cells' names give the process away, or from a KLayout .lyp dropped with the layout.
Can I find a cell or a label?
Yes. Choose Search and type a name. Every placed cell and every label that matches is counted, and each one you step to is lit on the stage.
What if a layout is too big for my device?
Filepeek draws as much of it as the device can hold, and Show details says when some of it was left out. Computers hold far more than phones.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The layout opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
