About DXF
Autodesk made DXF along with AutoCAD in 1982, so other programs could read its drawings, and has published how it works ever since. A DXF is plain text, or binary for speed, with every value marked by a number that says what it is.
That openness made DXF the way drawings move between apps: CAD programs, CNC machines, laser and vinyl cutters, and vector and map apps all read and write it. A DXF can hold all a DWG does, sheets included, though many from other apps hold only the model's lines and arcs.

How do I open a DXF file?
Drop it on this page or choose Peek a DXF. It opens at once on its model, or its first sheet when the model is empty, with nothing to install.
Can I check a DXF before cutting it?
Yes. Every line, arc and curve is drawn sharp at any zoom, and Measure gives the distance between two points that snap to ends, corners and centers, in the drawing's units.
Can I hide layers?
Yes. Choose Layers to see every layer with its color, and click an eye to hide or show one, or show one alone. Layers off or frozen in the file start hidden.
Can I turn a DXF into a PDF or an SVG?
Yes. Choose Export to save this sheet or every sheet as PDF, the view as PNG, or the drawing as SVG with a group for each layer.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The drawing opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
