Open PT files in your browser
The files PyTorch saves its models and weights in. See what one holds right here, without Python and without running it. Nothing leaves your device.
Or drop it anywhere on this page
What you'll see
Your checkpoint opens as the model it holds, read without running any of it.
- Parameters, tensors and the size of the weights
- Every tensor in a table • Its type and shape
- Hyperparameters, epoch and step
- What loading it would call • Commands and code marked
About PT
PyTorch, the machine learning framework Meta started, saves models with torch.save, and .pt and .pth are the names people give them. Research code, model zoos and tutorials share trained weights this way, from image classifiers to speech and language models.
Since PyTorch 1.6 a .pt is a ZIP: a pickle that describes the model, often a state dict naming the weights of each layer, and a file for the bytes of each tensor. Older ones are a pickle followed by the weights. Either way, loading one in Python runs its pickle, which is why PyTorch 2.6 made torch.load load only weights unless told otherwise.
Filepeek reads the pickle without running any of it, and never reads the weights. It shows the parameters, the tensors with their types and shapes in a table, the hyperparameters and training state a checkpoint keeps, and every import loading it would call, with those that run commands or code marked.

Questions
How do I see what's in a .pt file without Python?
Drop it on this page or press Peek a PT. Its parameters, its tensors and what loading it would call show at once, however big the file is.
What's the difference between .pt and .pth?
None: both are what torch.save writes, and PyTorch reads either. A .pth is also the name of Python's path files, plain text that opens here as text.
Is it safe to open a .pt file?
Here, yes: nothing in it runs. Loading it in Python with weights_only off runs its pickle, which can do anything, so check what it would call first, and share models you make as safetensors.
How many parameters does my model have?
They're counted from the tensors' shapes and show at the top, with the size of the weights and their types.
