About RM
RealNetworks launched RealVideo in 1997, and RealPlayer streamed much of the early web's video and radio. RMVB, its variable bitrate version, became a popular way to share movies and shows in the 2000s.
RealMedia files hold RealVideo, from early versions built on H.263 to RealVideo 10, with RealAudio sound. Few apps still play them.
No browser plays RealMedia by itself. Filepeek decodes it with FFmpeg inside your browser, and Export saves an MP4 that plays on anything.

Questions
How do I play RMVB without RealPlayer?
Drop the file on this page or press Peek an RM. Filepeek decodes it inside your browser, with nothing to install.
What's the difference between RM and RMVB?
RMVB is RealMedia with a variable bitrate, which spends more data on busy scenes and less on calm ones. Filepeek plays both.
Can I convert it to MP4?
Yes. Choose Export, then Save as MP4. The H.264 file plays on phones, TVs and computers.
Is my video uploaded?
No. It plays inside your browser and stays on your device.
