About FLV
Macromedia added FLV to Flash Player 7 in 2003, and it carried most web video for years, YouTube's included. Adobe retired Flash Player in 2020, and browsers removed it.
An FLV usually holds Sorenson Spark or On2 VP6 video with MP3 sound, and later ones H.264 with AAC. F4V, its successor from 2007, is built on MP4.
No browser plays FLV by itself. Filepeek decodes Flash's own codecs with FFmpeg inside your browser, and Export saves an MP4 that plays everywhere.

Questions
How do I play FLV files without Flash?
Drop the file on this page or press Peek an FLV. Filepeek decodes it inside your browser, so neither Flash nor any other app is needed.
Does it open F4V files too?
Yes. F4V is the later Flash format, built on MP4, and Filepeek plays it as well.
Can I convert FLV to MP4?
Yes. Open it, choose Export, then Save as MP4, which every device plays.
Is my video uploaded?
No. It plays inside your browser and stays on your device.
