About TGA
Truevision made TGA in 1984 for its TARGA graphics boards, among the first that showed true color on a PC. Games, 3D apps and render farms kept it for textures, sprites and frames, and Unreal, Source and many mods still use it.
A TGA is simple: a short header, then pixels in 8 to 32 bits, with or without a palette, often packed with run lengths, and an alpha channel for transparency.
No browser shows TGA. Filepeek decodes it itself, with its transparency over a checkerboard, and Export saves a PNG or a JPEG.
