About TOML
Tom Preston-Werner, a founder of GitHub, made TOML in 2013 as a settings format that's plain to read and has one clear meaning. Rust's Cargo.toml, Python's pyproject.toml, Hugo, Netlify and uv use it, and version 1.0 came out in 2021.
A TOML file is a list of key = value lines under table headers in brackets, like [package], with [[double brackets]] for each item of a list of tables. Values have types: strings, integers, floats, booleans, arrays, inline tables, and dates and times written like 2026-10-21T06:12:00Z.
Filepeek reads the file with its own TOML 1.0 reader and shows its tables as a tree, with comments next to their keys and dates marked. A mistake, such as a key set twice, is named in plain words where it is.

Questions
How do I open a TOML file?
Drop it on this page or choose Peek a TOML. It opens at once as a tree of its tables, with nothing to install.
Can I turn TOML into JSON or YAML?
Yes. Choose Export, then Save as JSON or Save as YAML. Dates are kept as they are written.
What if my TOML has a mistake?
It opens up to the mistake, which is marked and named in plain words, like a key set twice or a string never closed.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The file opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
