About ASF
Microsoft made ASF in 1996 as the Advanced Streaming Format, later renamed Advanced Systems Format. WMV and WMA files are ASF files too, under their own extensions.
An .asf file is what older Windows Media tools, streams and some recorders saved, usually with Windows Media Video and Windows Media Audio inside.
No browser plays ASF by itself. Filepeek decodes it with FFmpeg inside your browser, and Export turns it into an MP4 that plays anywhere.

Questions
What's the difference between ASF, WMV and WMA?
They're the same container. Windows names it .wmv when it holds Windows Media video, .wma for sound alone and .asf for the rest. Filepeek plays ASF and WMV videos alike.
Why won't my ASF play?
Some ASF files are locked with Windows Media copy protection, and Filepeek can't unlock them. Unprotected ones play in any browser.
Can I save it as MP4?
Yes. Choose Export, then Save as MP4. Small, or a size limit like 10 MB, makes it easy to send.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Filepeek decodes it inside your browser, so it stays on your device.
