Open BR files in your browser
Brotli, the compression of the web, from Google. Open a .br or .tar.br right here and see the file inside. Nothing leaves your device.
Or drop it anywhere on this page
What you'll see
Your archive opens like a folder, its files listed on the left.
- Listed like a folder • Unpacks only what you pick

About BR
Google released Brotli in 2015, and every browser unpacks it as web servers send pages with it. Files named .br come from there: websites keep pages and scripts precompressed as .br, and Unity's WebGL builds pack their data, code and WebAssembly as .br files.
A .br file is a Brotli stream with no header of its own, so only its name says what it is. Like gzip, it holds one file, and many files go into a TAR first, as .tar.br.
Filepeek unpacks it in your browser and opens the file inside in the viewer for what it is, and a .tar.br as a folder of its files.

Questions
How do I open a .br file?
Drop it on this page or press Peek a BR. The file inside opens at once.
What are the .br files in my Unity WebGL build?
Unity packs a WebGL build's data, code and WebAssembly with Brotli. Each .br opens here to the file inside.
Why does my Unity WebGL build say it can't parse a .br file?
The web server has to send .br files with Content-Encoding: br, over HTTPS, so the browser unpacks them before Unity's loader reads them. Without it, the loader gets packed bytes. The files themselves are fine, and each opens here.
