About ZST
Yann Collet created Zstandard at Facebook, which released version 1.0 in 2016. It packs about as tight as gzip in a fraction of the time, unpacks several times faster, and can trade speed for smaller files.
Arch Linux ships its packages as .pkg.tar.zst files, and Fedora compresses its packages with it too. Like gzip, a .zst holds one file, so many files go into a TAR first, as .tar.zst or .tzst.
No browser opens a .zst file by itself. Filepeek unpacks it with 7-Zip compiled to WebAssembly: a .tar.zst or .tzst opens straight to the files of the TAR, and a lone .zst holding one file opens it right away.

Questions
How do I open a .zst file?
Drop it on this page or choose Peek a ZST. A .tar.zst lists its files like a folder, and a lone .zst opens the file inside right away, with no command line.
Can it open Arch Linux packages?
Yes. A .pkg.tar.zst is a TAR compressed with Zstandard, so Filepeek lists the files inside and opens the ones you pick.
What's inside a .zst file?
One compressed file. In a .tar.zst or .tzst, that file is a TAR holding many more, and Filepeek lists those directly.
Can I turn it into a ZIP?
Yes. Choose Export, then Save as ZIP. Phones and computers open the ZIP without an app.
Is my file uploaded?
No. It's unpacked inside your browser and never leaves your device.
