About EPUB
An EPUB is a ZIP of web pages: each chapter in XHTML, styled with CSS, with the book's fonts, pictures, contents and details beside them. The IDPF made it in 2007 to replace its Open eBook format, EPUB 3 came in 2011, and the W3C has kept it since 2017.
Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play Books, Calibre and most public libraries use EPUB, and Amazon takes it through Send to Kindle. Books bought from stores are often locked with DRM to their app, and those can't be read anywhere else.
Filepeek lays the book out on pages the size of a paperback, with its own fonts, pictures and footnotes, and its contents beside them to jump to any chapter. A link to another chapter goes there, a web link asks before it opens, and nothing is loaded from the web.

Questions
How do I open an EPUB file?
Drop it on this page or choose Peek an EPUB. It opens at once on book-sized pages, with its contents beside them.
Can I read it on my phone?
Yes. On a phone the text is reflowed to fit your screen, with no zooming in and out, and Show pages brings back the pages.
Can it open books with DRM?
No. A book locked to a store's app can only be read there. Books without DRM, like those of many publishers, Project Gutenberg and Standard Ebooks, open here.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The book opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
