About FB2
A FictionBook is one XML file holding a whole book: its title, author and genre, then its sections of text, with poems, epigraphs, footnotes and pictures in base64 inside it. Dmitry Gribov made it in 2004, and FictionBook 2.21, from 2008, is still the one in use.
It's the format of most Russian-language e-book libraries and of readers like PocketBook, often zipped as .fb2.zip or .fbz. Kindles and Apple Books don't open it.
Filepeek lays the book out on pages the size of a paperback, with its pictures, poems and epigraphs set apart, its footnotes at the foot of the page and its contents beside them. A zipped FB2 opens the same way.

Questions
How do I open an FB2 file?
Drop it on this page or choose Peek an FB2. It opens at once on book-sized pages, with its contents beside them.
Can it open .fb2.zip files?
Yes. An .fbz opens as the book, and an .fb2.zip opens like a folder with the book inside, which opens when you pick it.
Can I read it on my phone?
Yes. On a phone the text is reflowed to fit your screen, with no zooming in and out, and Show pages brings back the pages.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The book opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
