Open IMG files in your browser
A disk copied byte for byte: an SD card, a USB stick, a Raspberry Pi system or a floppy. Open one right here, see its partitions and open the files you need. Nothing leaves your device.
Or drop it anywhere on this page
What you'll see
Your disk opens like a folder, each volume's files listed on the left, with a map of its partitions and what the disk holds beside them.
- A map of the disk • Every partition to scale
- Every volume as a folder • Files open at once
- Verify • SHA-256, SHA-1 or MD5
- Export • Save as ZIP or Extract all
About IMG
A raw image holds every byte of a disk, from its first sector to its last, with nothing added. Unix's dd made the first ones in 1974, and every disk tool still writes them: Raspberry Pi Imager and balenaEtcher write .img files onto SD cards, forensic tools copy drives into .dd files, and old floppies live on as .ima and .vfd.
The disk starts with its partition table, MBR or GPT, and each partition holds a file system: FAT and exFAT on cards and sticks, NTFS on Windows drives, ext4 on Linux and a Raspberry Pi's root, HFS+ or APFS on a Mac's. A stick or a floppy often has one file system and no table at all.
Filepeek draws the disk as a map, each partition to scale with its file system, size and space used, and lists each volume as a folder, all with 7-Zip compiled to WebAssembly. Windows' own files, like $MFT, and hidden ones stay out of the way until you choose Show hidden files. Files open at once, and Verify works out the image's SHA-256.

Questions
How do I see the files in an IMG?
Drop it on this page or choose Peek an IMG. The disk shows as a map of its partitions, each volume as a folder, and the file you pick opens right away.
Can it open a Raspberry Pi image?
Yes. Its FAT boot partition and its ext4 system both open as folders, with config.txt and the rest of the boot files, and every file of the system.
Which file systems open?
FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, exFAT, NTFS, ext2, ext3, ext4, HFS, HFS+ and APFS, plus Linux LVM volumes. A partition locked with BitLocker shows as locked.
What are .ima, .vfd and .dd files?
Raw images too: .ima and .vfd are floppy disks, and .dd is what forensic tools and dd itself write. They open the same way.
Is my disk image uploaded?
No. It opens inside your browser and never leaves your device, however big it is.
