About RBXL
Roblox Studio saves a place, one world of a Roblox game with its parts, models, lighting and scripts, as an .rbxl file. An .rbxlx is the same place written as XML.
An .rbxl is binary: chunks of each class, its instances, each property for all of them at once and the parents that nest them, packed with LZ4 or Zstandard. Its tree is Studio's Explorer: Workspace, Lighting, ReplicatedStorage and the other services.
Filepeek draws the parts from their shape, size, place, color, transparency and material, and unions from the parts they were made of. The Explorer becomes the Scene panel, Inspect shows each instance's properties as Studio's Properties does, and scripts open in the text viewer and never run.

Questions
How do I open an RBXL file without Roblox Studio?
Drop it on this page or choose Peek an RBXL. The place opens in 3D, with its Explorer in the Scene panel and each instance's properties in Inspect.
Can I read its scripts?
Yes. Pick a script in the Scene panel, and Inspect opens its Luau source in the text viewer. Nothing in it runs.
Why are some objects outlined boxes?
MeshParts and decals keep only an asset ID, and their meshes and pictures live on Roblox's servers. Filepeek never asks them, so they show as boxes of their size.
Is my place uploaded?
No. It opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
