About GLB
The Khronos Group, who look after OpenGL and Vulkan, made glTF 2.0 in 2017 as the JPEG of 3D: a model ready to show, in a form graphics cards take as it is. A GLB packs the whole of it, the scene, its meshes and its textures, into one binary file.
A GLB holds a scene of nodes with meshes, materials made of physical settings such as base color, metalness and roughness, cameras, skins and animations. Extensions add more, such as Draco or Meshopt compression, KTX 2 textures, clearcoat, glass and variants of the materials.
Filepeek shows the model in your browser lit by a studio light, with every node in a list, Inspect for any object's size, triangles and materials, its animations on a player, its variants and cameras a click away, Measure and Section. How do I open a GLB file?
Drop it on this page or choose Peek a GLB. It opens at once in 3D, lit and framed, with nothing to install.
Can I play its animations?
Yes. A model with animations plays the first one on a player along the bottom, with a timeline to scrub, its speed and a menu of the others.
Can I see its material variants?
Yes. A GLB with variants, like a shoe in several colors, gets a Variant menu beside its details, and each one shows at once.
Can I turn a GLB into a USDZ for an iPhone?
Yes. Choose Export, then Save as USDZ. On an iPhone or iPad, View in your room opens it in AR Quick Look straight away.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The model opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
