Open SFC files in your browser
The file a Super Nintendo game is dumped to. Open one right here to see what its header says, whether its checksum is right and its hashes. Nothing leaves your device.
Or drop it anywhere on this page
What you'll see
Your ROM opens on a page of its own, with what its header says in plain words and the hashes to check it against No-Intro.
- Its header in plain words • Chips, sizes and region
- CRC32, MD5, SHA-1 and SHA-256 • As No-Intro lists them
- Copy a hash • Or paste one to compare
- Nothing in it runs • Read, never played
About SFC
A Super Nintendo, or Super Famicom, cartridge copied into a file is an .sfc. An .smc is the same, often with a 512 byte header in front that the copier machines of the 1990s added.
The game keeps its own header inside the ROM, at one of three places depending on how the cartridge maps it: LoROM, HiROM or ExHiROM. It gives the title, the map and speed, the chips on the board, like the DSP-1, Super FX or SA-1, the ROM and save RAM sizes, the region, the maker, the version and a checksum of the whole ROM.
Filepeek finds the header by scoring the three places it can sit, reads it in plain words and sums the ROM to say whether its checksum is right. The hashes are of the ROM without any copier header, as No-Intro lists them.

Questions
How do I see a SNES ROM's header?
Drop it on this page or choose Peek an SFC. Its page shows the title, the map, the chips, the sizes, the region and the version, and whether its checksum is right.
What's the difference between SFC and SMC?
Both are Super Nintendo ROMs. An .smc often starts with a 512 byte copier header, which Filepeek skips for the hashes and names on the page.
How do I check it against No-Intro?
Its page shows the CRC32, MD5, SHA-1 and SHA-256 of the ROM without a copier header. Copy one, or paste one to compare.
Is my ROM uploaded?
No. It opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
