About TS
The MPEG transport stream became a standard in 1995 to carry digital TV. Broadcasts, TV recorders and set top boxes use it, and online video often travels as short .ts pieces.
A TS holds MPEG-2, H.264 or HEVC video with MPEG audio, AAC or Dolby Digital sound, often with several programs or sound tracks. HDV camcorders saved it as .m2t.
Chrome, Edge and Firefox can't play a TS file by themselves. Filepeek reads it, lets the browser decode H.264 and HEVC, and decodes MPEG-2 and Dolby Digital itself.

Questions
Is a .ts file a video?
Often, but not always. Video .ts files are MPEG transport streams, while programmers use .ts for TypeScript code. Filepeek plays the video kind.
How do I play a TV recording?
Drop the .ts file on this page or press Peek a TS, and it plays right in your browser. Recordings a set top box encrypts only play on that box.
Can I make it smaller?
Yes. Choose Export, then Save as MP4. TV recordings often shrink a lot, and a size limit like 100 MB picks the resolution for you.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The recording plays inside your browser and is never sent to a server.
