About WOFF2

Google made WOFF2 to make web fonts smaller, compressing them with its Brotli and storing glyphs in a form that packs better. Chrome read it from 2014, the W3C made it a standard in 2018, and it's the format Google Fonts and most sites serve.

A WOFF2 holds a TrueType or OpenType font, its tables compressed together with Brotli and its TrueType glyphs rewritten to pack tighter. It's about a third smaller than the same font as WOFF.

Filepeek unpacks the font in your browser and shows every glyph by Unicode block. Type in it, read its names and licence, save it as the TTF or OTF inside to install it, or cut it down to the glyphs a page needs.
