About 3DM
Robert McNeel & Associates released Rhino in 1998, and .3dm has been its format since. Its openNURBS toolkit is free, so many apps read and write 3DM, and designers of jewelry, boats, shoes and buildings share their models in it.
A 3DM holds exact NURBS curves, surfaces and solids, meshes, points and text, on layers with their colors, blocks placed as instances, and the meshes Rhino shades them with, kept so other apps can draw them.
Filepeek reads it in your browser with rhino3dm, McNeel's openNURBS in WebAssembly. It draws surfaces and solids from the shading meshes the file keeps, curves as lines and meshes as they are, with its layers as groups to hide or see alone, Inspect, Measure and Section. Export saves it as STL, OBJ or GLB, or the view as PNG.

Questions
How do I open a 3DM file without Rhino?
Drop it on this page or choose Peek a 3DM. It opens in 3D with its layers beside it, with nothing to install.
Why is a surface missing?
Filepeek draws surfaces and solids from the shading meshes Rhino keeps in the file for other apps. A file saved without them, as Save Small does, shows its curves and meshes, and a note counts what it leaves out.
Can I hide layers?
Yes. Each layer is a group beside the model. Click its eye to hide it, or See alone to show only that layer.
Can I turn a 3DM into an STL?
Yes. Choose Export, then Save as STL, for 3D printing, or OBJ and GLB for other apps.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The model opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
