About ASEPRITE
David Capello began Aseprite in 2001 as the Allegro Sprite Editor, and it became the pixel art app of indie games. Its .aseprite and .ase files keep a sprite as the artist left it.
A sprite holds its layers and frames, each frame with its own time, with tags that name a run of frames and how it plays, tilemaps and slices, and blend modes like an image editor's.
Filepeek shows the sprite with its pixels sharp at any zoom and its layers beside it, to hide one or show it alone. Its frames play on the player, at their own times, and Export saves the frame on show as PNG.

Questions
How do I open an Aseprite file without Aseprite?
Drop it on this page or press Peek an ASEPRITE. It opens with its layers, and its animation plays.
Do .ase files open too?
Yes. An Aseprite sprite saved as .ase opens the same way, and an Adobe swatch file named .ase opens as a palette.
Can I step through the frames?
Yes. Pause, then step back and forth one frame at a time, or drag along the timeline.
Is my sprite uploaded?
No. The sprite opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
