About DAE
Sony made Collada in 2004 for the PlayStation 3's tools, and the Khronos Group has looked after it since. SketchUp and Google Earth made it common, and many 3D apps and engines still read and write it.
A DAE is XML: libraries of geometry, materials, effects, pictures, cameras, lights and animations, and a scene of nodes that uses them. Its textures are files beside it, named by their paths.
Filepeek reads it in your browser with its textures when they're opened with it: every node listed, its animations on a player, Inspect, Measure and Section. Export saves it as GLB, USDZ, STL or OBJ, or the view as PNG.

Questions
How do I open a DAE file?
Drop it on this page with its textures, or drop its folder, or choose Peek a DAE. It opens in 3D, with nothing to install.
Can I play its animations?
Yes. A DAE with animations plays them on a player along the bottom, with a timeline to scrub and its speed.
Can I turn a DAE into a GLB?
Yes. Choose Export, then Save as GLB, with its materials, textures and animations in one file. USDZ, STL and OBJ save it for iPhones, 3D printing and other apps.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The model and its textures open inside your browser and never leave your device.
