About DFONT

Classic Mac OS kept fonts in suitcases, in a file's resource fork, a part of a file only Macs keep. Mac OS X moved the suitcase into the file's ordinary data in 2001, as a dfont, and shipped its own fonts that way for years.

A dfont holds a resource map with one or more TrueType or OpenType fonts, often the styles of one family, and at times the bitmap sizes Classic Mac OS drew on screen.

Filepeek reads the suitcase in your browser and lists every font in it in the file list. Each opens with all its glyphs, Type and Info, and saves as a TTF or OTF to install on any computer, or as WOFF2 for the web.
