About DTS

Digital Theater Systems brought DTS to cinemas in 1993 with Jurassic Park. It went on to DVDs and Blu-rays as the main rival of Dolby Digital.

A DTS track carries up to 5.1 channels, or more with its extensions, at up to 1.5 Mbit/s on DVDs. Blu-rays often use DTS-HD Master Audio, which adds a lossless layer on top.

No browser plays DTS by itself. Filepeek decodes it with FFmpeg inside your browser, and Export saves an MP3 or WAV that plays on anything.

Questions

How do I play a DTS file?

Drop it on this page or press Peek a DTS. Filepeek decodes it inside your browser, with no player or codec pack to install.

Why won't DTS play on my phone or computer?

Few phones, browsers and apps can decode DTS. Filepeek brings its own decoder, so it plays here.

Can I convert DTS to MP3 or WAV?

Yes. Choose Export, then Save as MP3, or Save as WAV for editing. Drag the handles on the waveform strip to save only a part.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The DTS track is decoded inside your browser and never leaves your device.
