About SAV
SPSS, made in 1968 and part of IBM since 2009, saves its data in .sav files: each row a case, like one person's answers to a survey, and each column a variable. ZSAV is the same file compressed with zlib, and POR the older portable file, written as plain text to move data between computers.
Besides the numbers, a .sav keeps what makes them readable: a label for each variable, like Age in years, value labels, like 1 for Agree and 5 for Disagree, the codes that mean missing, and the display format of each number, date and time.
Filepeek reads it with ReadStat, compiled to WebAssembly. Each column's label shows under its name, and Labels and Codes, next to the file's details, switch between the value labels and the numbers underneath.
Games name their saves .sav too, and Filepeek tells them apart by their first bytes. An Unreal Engine save opens as a tree of its properties, with the save class that often names the game, a Satisfactory save on a page of its own and an emulator's battery save as the chip it fits.

Questions
How do I open a SAV file without SPSS?
Drop it on this page or choose Peek a SAV. Its cases open as a table with their value labels, with nothing to install.
Can I see the codes behind the labels?
Yes. Labels and Codes, next to the file's details, switch between the value labels, like Agree, and the numbers they stand for.
Does it open ZSAV and POR files?
Yes. ZSAV, the compressed .sav of newer SPSS versions, and POR, the older portable file, open the same way.
Can I turn a SAV file into CSV or Excel?
Yes. Choose Export, then Save as CSV, Excel, JSON, JSON Lines or Parquet, with every row or only the rows you sorted and filtered.
What if it's a game's save?
It opens as what its bytes say: an Unreal Engine save as a tree of its properties, a Satisfactory save on a page with its session and play time, and an emulator's save as the chip it fits.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The table opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
