About WLD
Terraria, Re-Logic's game of digging, building and fighting, keeps each world as a .wld file in its Worlds folder, beside a backup of it.
A .wld starts with a header of where each section is, then the world's facts: its name, size, seed, difficulty, whether it has the Corruption or the Crimson, Hardmode and every boss and event beaten. Then come its tiles, column by column and packed in runs, and its chests, signs and townspeople.
Filepeek reads the header into a page with the world's name, size, seed and its secret seeds, difficulty, evil, the bosses beaten, events won and people rescued, its spawn and dungeon and the version it was saved with. The whole map is drawn a tile a pixel in TEdit's colors, and opens in the image viewer to zoom and save as PNG.

Questions
How do I see a Terraria world's map?
Drop the .wld on this page or choose Peek a WLD. Its whole map is drawn on its page, every tile and wall, and World map.png opens it in the image viewer, where Export saves it as PNG.
Can I see which bosses are beaten?
Yes. Its page lists the bosses beaten, the events won and the people rescued, with the world's difficulty and seed.
Does it change my world?
No. Filepeek only reads it, and it never leaves your device.
