About YDR

Grand Theft Auto V draws its props, buildings and objects from drawables, .ydr files, and mods that add or replace them ship their own.

A YDR is a RAGE resource: an RSC7 header, then deflate. It holds up to four levels of detail, each a set of models in Rockstar's vertex layouts, with the shaders that draw them and often a texture dictionary of its own.

Filepeek draws each level of detail, switched in the Scene panel, with the textures the file holds, in GTA V Legacy's layout or Enhanced's. Textures it doesn't hold come from the YTD of the same name, dropped with it.

Questions

How do I view a YDR file?

Drop it on this page or choose Peek a YDR. The model opens in 3D, its levels of detail in the Scene panel.

Why are its textures missing?

Many models take their textures from a YTD of the same name. Drop the two together, or the folder they're in, and the textures show.

Is my model uploaded?

No. It opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
