About HWPX
Hangul has written HWPX beside its binary HWP since 2010, and saves it by default since 2021. It's a Korean standard, KS X 6101, which other apps can read and write, so South Korea's government asks for HWPX in place of HWP.
Inside, an HWPX file is a ZIP, like Word's DOCX: a header.xml with the fonts and styles, a section XML for each part of the document with its paragraphs, tables, text boxes, footnotes, headers and footers, and the pictures beside them in BinData.
Filepeek reads it in your browser and lays out every page in its size and margins, with its fonts, outline numbering, tables, text boxes, pictures, footnotes, endnotes, headers, footers and page numbers. Search counts every match, and Export saves it as PDF, its pages as PNG or JPEG, or its text as Markdown.

Questions
What's the difference between HWP and HWPX?
HWP is Hangul's own binary format and HWPX its XML one, a Korean standard other apps can read and write. Hangul saves HWPX by default since 2021, and Filepeek opens both.
How do I open an HWPX file without Hangul?
Drop it here: Filepeek lays out its pages in your browser on Windows, Mac, Linux or a phone, with nothing to install. Hancom's free Hancom Office Viewer opens HWPX files too.
Can I save an HWPX file as HWP?
Hangul does, with Save As and HWP as the type, for someone whose older Hangul can't open HWPX. Here, Export saves it as PDF through the print window, its pages as PNG or JPEG, or its text as Markdown.
