About IFC
IFC is the open standard of BIM, building information modeling, kept by buildingSMART since its first release in 1997 and an ISO standard since 2013. Architects, engineers and builders hand models over as IFC, and many public projects ask for it.
An IFC file is STEP text that describes a building as it will be built: a project, its sites, buildings and storeys, and on each the walls, slabs, doors, windows, beams, pipes and furniture, each with its shape, its materials and sets of properties such as its fire rating or its area.
Filepeek reads it in your browser with web-ifc and lays the building out storey by storey, each element under its storey, with its categories to hide every wall or window at once. Inspect reads every property set of what you click, Section cuts through floors, Measure snaps to corners, and Export saves the element list as a CSV, the model as GLB or OBJ, or the view as PNG.

Questions
How do I open an IFC file without Revit?
Drop it on this page or choose Peek an IFC. The building opens in 3D from above, with its storeys beside it and nothing to install.
Can I see one floor at a time?
Yes. Each storey is listed with its elements. Click See alone on a storey to show only that floor, or use Section to cut through the building at any height.
Can I see an element's properties?
Yes. Click a wall, a door or any element: Inspect shows its category and storey, and every property set it has, such as its fire rating, its area or its maker.
Can I hide every wall at once?
Yes. The categories below the storeys list each kind of element with how many there are. Click an eye to hide all the walls, slabs or furniture, and again to bring them back.
Can I get a list of the elements?
Yes. Choose Export, then Save the element list, for a CSV with each element's name, category, storey and IFC ID.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The building opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
