What you'll see
Your file opens like a folder, its files listed on the left, with a page beside them on what it is and what it holds.
- Listed like a folder • Unpacks only what you pick
- A page on what it is • From its own manifest or index
- Pictures, sounds and text • Each opens in its viewer
- Export • Save as ZIP or Extract all
About UNITYPACKAGE
Unity exports a set of assets, with everything they depend on, as a .unitypackage, and imports one into any project. Asset Store packs, sample projects and tools for Unity are shared this way.
A .unitypackage is a TAR packed with gzip, with a folder for each asset named by its GUID. Each folder holds the asset, its .meta file, a pathname file with its place in the project, like Assets/Models/Lantern.fbx, and sometimes a preview.
Filepeek reads the pathname files as the package unpacks, so its assets show in the project's own folders. The page counts them by kind and shows their previews, and each one opens in its own viewer: a scene as its Hierarchy, a model in 3D, a texture as a picture and a script as text.

Questions
How do I open a UNITYPACKAGE without Unity?
Drop it on this page or choose Peek a UNITYPACKAGE. Its assets are listed in the folders they import into, and each one opens on its own.
Can I see the models and textures inside?
Yes. Models such as FBX, OBJ and glTF open in the 3D viewer, and textures in the image viewer, each with Export.
Does anything in it run?
No. Scripts open as text and nothing is imported anywhere. It never leaves your device.
