About VPK
Valve's games keep their materials, models, sounds and maps in VPKs: Left 4 Dead, Portal 2, Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on Source, and Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2 on Source 2. Workshop items and mods often come as a single .vpk.
A VPK has a directory of every file by its extension, folder and name, with its CRC and where its data is. A game's own come in parts: a _dir.vpk with the directory, then _000.vpk, _001.vpk and on with the data.
Filepeek reads the directory and lists the files like a folder, taking their data from the parts dropped with it, and counts what it holds by kind. VTF textures open as pictures and Source maps in the 3D viewer.

Can I see the textures inside?
Yes. VTF textures open as pictures in the image viewer, where Export saves them as PNG or JPEG.
Is my file uploaded?
No. It opens inside your browser and never leaves your device.
